'Flowers and Silk’ is painted in a romantic style with bright colours and deep contrast, magnifying emotions to depict a personal experience. Here the three elements that would normally form a floral arrangement are placed apart and laid-out in very different vases, one with no vase at all. This expression came about a personal situation that required me to deconstruct groups of life exposures and observations that formed a view in my mind that produced a feeling that was somewhat distasteful. Each of those experiences where then placed adjacent to one another, they had to be re-examined separately, each in their own form, allowing a new perspective to be formed.
